Favorite Previous Large Exhibit: May 1-25, 2014

“Gone Wild” was the theme for the May 2014 exhibit at the Klamath Art Gallery.   Local photographer Jonne M. Goeller put together an exhibit featuring landscapes from some of the most remote locations in the region. Her passion for fine art landscape photography leads her to seek out the hidden and unknown.
Goeller’s photography has a distinct style.  Avoiding trails and roads, she is able to find unique landscapes in remote locations that are rarely photographed by other photographers… if at all.  She creates images the old fashion way using shooting and filter techniques from her "film/darkroom" days with her modern digital camera. She travels with lightweight camera equipment and her tripod is the seat of her pants! Patches and all! Her favorite light is the intense light found at high elevations and as far away from cities as possible. The resulting photos often have intense color, dramatic lighting and startling three-dimensional depth. She does minimal digital editing to her photographs because she tries to shoot them “right” in the first place. Her husband Steve often scouts locations and tries to keep her out of trouble!
Nearly all of her new photographs are printed on metallic surfaced paper. “It just glows!” commented Goeller.  “If you have never seen photographs printed 13” x 19”on this media, this exhibit was a “must see.”  She still insists on printing, matting and framing most of her own work, one image at a time. Her limited edition landscape photographs have made their way into a number of private collections. This is the largest exhibit she has done in Klamath Falls.
